In this post, I wrote about several goals I’d like to accomplish in the next 2 months. It’s almost the 1 month mark (have one more week left), but let’s dive in on what I have accomplished so far.

  • Revamp my portfolio to showcase both photography & graphic design works.
    • On track! I don’t know if “revamp” is the right word to use here, but I uploaded most of my photos and design works in my portfolio. I still have to learn how to correctly organize it. The blog’s theme isn’t exactly user friendly.

  • Settle on a personal brand (establish a logo and brand name). I do not want to be yet another “(Name) Photography” site.
    • Logo is completed.
    • Still toying with what exactly I should call it. I keep using “lilo (type of photo)” on my Instagram hashtags because I keep thinking I should stick to “Lilo Factor” as the name. However, my logical brain is thinking, “you’re going to get sued by the movie people for using “Lilo”. Work in progress as you can read.
  • Stop reading about how to start creating and just do it.
    • Can’t remember when I last read an article about “creating”, so on track!
  • Stop comparing my site to others.
    • On track! I’ve stopped caring about when I should post. I stopped caring about my stats.
  • Write and post whatever the heck I want/feel about on any given day. Editorial calendar be damned.
    • On track! See previous goal update. 🙂

Overall, it looks like I’m on track with these goals. I feel like I should add more to this, but maybe I’m getting ahead of myself? Baby steps?

I do have some ideas in mind on the next actions to pursue, but still firming it up offline.

I have to say, I’m loving this putting my goals online and holding myself accountable to them (ugh, can this sentence be any more passive???).

2015 is now a seemingly distant past. I started the year off with celebrating the New Year with my family and witnessing my best friends’ special occasion in the Philippines. Then, I saw and listened to a talk given by a French model. Traveled down south to New Orleans. Accepted a second professional speaking engagement.  Visited 3 New England states. Learned a lot from personal and professional mistakes made throughout the year.

In 2015, I made 3 goals for myself and my overall rating on what I accomplished for each one:

  1. Simplify = 70%
  2. Career Development = 80%
  3. Fitness = 5%

In this post, I never really explained what action plans I needed to do for each goal. It was never laid out anywhere. All I knew was that I needed to simplify, further develop my career, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I knew what the goals were, but my action plans were, to put it simply, all over the place.  I suffered a lot of analysis paralysis throughout the year and I read more inspirational articles, but never quite put anything into concrete actions.

This year, I hope to change this. This year, I’m simplifying by focusing on one word. The inspiration came from an article I read on Levo League and I thought this was as simple as a goal should get.

2016 is a big milestone year for me because I turn 30 this year. So for such a big milestone, I choose to focus on the word CREATE.

  1. CREATE more opportunities for myself.
  2. Try out new recipes at home.
  3. Go back into photography.
  4. Build my own website from scratch.
  5. Continue to build a personal brand.
  6. Write on the blog.
  7. Contribute articles to blogs I follow, like The Everygirl.
  8. Make the time to do yoga or kickboxing.

I could probably go on until I reach 30.. but I think you get my drift.

Happy New Year everyone and may this year bring you more blessings than any of the previous years before it.

What 2015 Means

Am I glad today is an off day. The past week has been brutal on me as I try to get back into the swing of things after my Seattle/Philippines vacation.

On another note, I can’t believe we’re half way through January already! Not too long ago, I was at my sister’s house watching fireworks from all corners of their balcony.

Now here we are celebrating MLK day (and Seahawks winning the NFC Championship!). I can barely get through this transition period (damn jet lag!), but thankfully I have my trusty yellow paper and finagled Passion Planner to write everything, including my 2015 goals, I need to do to start this year right. And of course, MLK’s quote to keep me going.

2012 Goals

1. Travel. I wanted to add pictures but I figured it would be best to add my own once I actually do the trips. Here are just a few places I had in mind. Obviously, everything will be decided by how much money I have so we’ll see. You will all know which one I visited soon enough. =)

– France (Marseill, Bordeux, Versailles)

– Italy (Venice, Verona, Naples, Rome, Amalfi Coast, Positano, Cinque Terre, Milan)

– Spain (Valencia)

– Portugal (Porto)

– Greece (Santorini, Crete)

– England (London)

– Germany (Berlin)

– Austria (Vienna)

2. Less Stress. For the sake of my hair and my health.

3. Embrace what is present and stop coveting what is not needed.

4. Live.

5. To Keep Calm and Carry On

6. Take pictures everyday, no matter what medium.

7. Strive to be put together.
